始穿山甲屬
始穿山甲屬（學名Eomanis）是已知最古老的穿山甲，生存於始新世的歐洲。在德國麥塞爾化石坑發現的化石顯示牠們長50厘米，外觀像現存的穿山甲，但尾巴及腳都沒有鱗片。從其胃內發現牠們是吃昆蟲及植物。與牠們同期的是沒有鱗片及像食蟻獸的歐食蟻獸。[1]
