安東尼·格雷

安東尼·格雷，OBE（；1938年7月5日－）是一位英國作家及記者。他在為路透社任職期間，因為報導中國文化大革命的新聞而被當時的中國政府囚禁[1]。1969年，格雷獲釋，成為當年香港報章的頭條新聞[1]。期後，他撰寫了一系列的歷史小說及非小說書籍，包括他被扣留期間的經歷。

被中國扣留（1967–1969）

1967年文化大革命期間，任職於路透社的安東尼·格雷當時被派駐於北京市。

當時香港銅鑼灣裁判署（已拆，位於今日香港地鐵港島線天后站上蓋）在7月19日以煽動暴亂罪名判處在當時英屬香港六七暴動期間發表搧動性言論的新華社記者薛平入獄兩年，另外參與暴動的七人亦被判監，引致由毛泽东領導的中國政府採取報復行動，於7月21日以「間諜罪」的罪名將安東尼·格雷拘監在他的居所的地庫[2]。
