蘇菲·卡爾

蘇菲·卡爾（法語：；1953年10月9日－）是一位法國作家、攝影師、裝置藝術家和觀念藝術家。[1]卡爾的作品傑出之處在於使用隨心所欲受限制的攝影場景，喚起了1960年代名為「Oulipo」的法國文學運動。她的作品經常性的描述出人類的脆弱，和身份與私密性的檢視。她被公認為是一個以偵探式的方式去追蹤陌生人和調查他們的私密生活。她的攝影作品常常包含了一組她自己撰寫的文本。[2]

蘇菲．卡爾從2005年開始在瑞士Saas-Fee的歐洲高等學院教授電影與攝影術。她在聖地牙哥的加州大學視覺藝術系講課。[3]她也在加州烏克蘭的密爾斯學院教書過。

卡爾的藝術作品曾於巴黎龐畢度中心[1]、俄羅斯冬宮博物館[4]、巴黎猶太藝術與歷史博物館[5]、紐約的Paula Cooper畫廊、比利時布魯塞爾皇家美術館、巴西聖保羅的SESC Pompeia、巴西的薩爾瓦多現代美術館、倫敦的Whitechapel畫廊[1]和荷蘭的De Pont當代藝術館[6]展覽。她於2007年代表法國參加威尼斯雙年展。[1]

2017年她以出版品《My All》（Actes Sud, 2016）入圍德國證交所攝影獎。[7][8]

批判分析

克莉斯汀·馬歇爾描述卡爾的作品是透過融合自身的生活經驗以「第一人稱藝術家」的方式轉化為藝術作品對於後結構主義當中「作者已死」概念的對抗，在這個方式當中，重新定義了作者的概念。[9]

Angelique Chrisafis，在衛報中稱呼她為「the Marcel Duchamp of emotional dirty laundry」。[10]
